It is important for all of us Christian and non-Christian alike, that this is not a day of gifts but a major religious holiday. It is also not disrespectful to other religious groups to passionately celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. This would be true even if Christmas were not a national holiday in a country overwhelmingly Christian. This also is a time to be kind to others in emotional need who are alone and need support.
